Racers came out for serious competition and serious fun this weekend. Despite low snow statewide there was racing. Juniors tested their mettle against the best in Lake placid.
Results for NYSSRA series races here:
In Glenville NYSSRA’s Nordic’s first natural snow competition of the season was held. Racers enjoyed a rolling wooded course with a couple climbs. With Low snow, coverage was too thin in some spots. Conditions were firm, and there was some undulation to the trail. Racers with nimble feet were able to ride them to the front of the pack.
Beth Irwin took the women’s title, while Brian Northam was the top man in the morning.
Sunday the competition returned north to Gore for a brisk Classic race.
