There is a lot to write about!
The NY Biathlon Championships are on! https://www.skireg.com/2017ny-biathlon-championships
Snow is holding at Osceola, so come compete, or come for a ski and watch!
Junior Nationals are underway in Lake Placid! NYSEF’s Schulz brothers are skiing well. 5th in U18 for Scott, and 1st for Karl (by .1 seconds in a close race for gold, with a 33 second cushion over Bronze for U20) in the 10K Freestyle. Mid-A racers put in some solid performances at the Jumping complex. All the Training they have put in on our hilly courses (like Old Forge) and especially our Man made snow venues (Gore Ski Bowl, and Maple Ski Ridge) is clearly paying off.
Highlights: SLU/NYSEF skier Lucy Hochschartner cracked into the top 10 with 9th in the 5K freestyle
Her Teammate Jackie Garso finished 10th for U18 Women.
There is a nice writeup and full results posted on Fasterskier, but Kris Alberga took much nicer photos!
Royal Mcdonnel skis smoothly-even after climbing from the Jumping complex, past the parking lot and up to the Biathlon range (my legs are tired just thinking about it!)
Karl Schulz free skates through the fast corner to snag an extra fraction of a second!
SLU’s Dannielle Laird (199) and Jackie Garso (184) charge on toward the top!

Go Mid-A
Whew! (I am starting to suspect that our Blogger in chief planned his vacation to compete in the 54 K Norwegian Birkebeinerrennet just to get away from the keyboard when we have all of these races to report on)!
