December 1st marks the close of the NYSSRA membership race. The “race” is a chance for a club team to organize and find new recruits before the first flakes fly. This does not mean you, your reluctant friends or new ex-pats can’t join NYSSRA or a club team. All it means is that “first blood” has been drawn in the points series competition.
And this year we have some surprises…After years of dominating the membership chart HURT nordic has been dethroned by the new WILDERNESS WILCATS from Pennsylvania. This is new group of skiers to the NYSSRA family and if they are half as enthusiastic and willing to travel as they are numerous, the points series competition could be real interesting.
