Online athlete registration is now open for the February 5-8, 2015 Empire State Winter Games at Lake Placid. There are no ESWG qualifying races required for competing in the NYSSRA Nordic organized sports of cross country skiing, biathlon, and ski orienteering.
For each of these individual sports, the competition schedule and registration link for Scholastic (U21) and Masters( 21 and up) divisions are located on the ESWG website www.empirestatewintergames.com under the sports drop down menu.
The athlete check-in schedule and Opening Ceremony information is also provided.
Specific ESWG Tour-NADO cross country skiing, biathlon, and ski orienteering information will be updated from the links of the NYSSRA Nordic website.
Athletes and their families are encouraged to make reservations soon for overnight accommodations in the Lake Placid area.
For more than 34 years, the Winter Games have brought together athletes from across the State and beyond to compete in a multi-day sports event at the Olympic venues of Lake Placid. During those years NYSSRA Nordic athletes have participated in skiing events with record setting performances and some athletes going on to college, national, and Winter Olympic team challenges.
