Top 10 Down-n-Dirty

This past Sunday we had a really great NYSSRA meeting (that seems like an oxymoron right?!) but truly…productive, informative and a lot of great things are coming your way for the 13-14 ski season.  It should be one of the best ones ever!  This is the top 10 down-n-dirty pieces of information that you should know…

1)  The race calendar: you can visit it here.  This has a list of all the NYSSRA sanctioned events in the state.  If an event says “Proposed” in front of it…it means that the official sanctioning information and registration information has not been received but it should be coming before Novemeber 1st.

2) Race Organizers: Please make sure you review the changes to the sanctioning forms seen here. Create your skireg pages, send in your paperwork and let us help you promote your event every way we can!  Let’s see if we can get it all in by Nov. 1st !!

3) Wilkinson Cup: Five big race weekends in NY this season.  All worth double NYSSRA points.  Exciting formats.  Deep race fields.  Great prizes, trophy and cash reward on the line for the Wilkinson Cup Champion.  See details here

6) Roles in NYSSRA: Ever wonder what it would take to be involved with helping NYSSRA work?  Visit our “View our Organization” link to see a online prezi that describes what your NYSSRA leadership does.  If you want to volunteer for a job or wish to help someone out please contact us.

7) Snowmaking Cole’s Woods: Fundraising is underway to put snowmaking in Cole’s Woods in Glens Falls.  If you can help or have experience in fundraising contact us!  We would love to work with you.  What wouldn’t you do for a ribbon of snow in early December?

8) NYSSRA Championship Weekend: HURT nordic is our host club…it is going to be a sensational weekend in Lake Placid…exciting race details will be coming soon.

9) Points Series STARTS NOW!: Race to November 1st.  The club with most registered members by November 1st gets the all important first victory of the season.  Sign up now. 

10) On Snow camp for HS skiers: December 26th-30th…at the OTC in Lake Placid.  You dont’ have to be a USSA member. Food, Lodging, Training at Van Ho, great coaching.  All included.  What a deal for only $260.00.  Registration will be coming soon.
