Eric Seyse, the NYSSRA Points series leader, takes the win in this years tourathon keeping his position atop the leader board. In 2nd, Not far behind, Scott Pleban of VA (formally of NY) commented on what a great race this was and how this race gave him the itch to come back to NY next weekend for the NYSSRA Champs. All of Seyse’s closest challengers were there hoping to take the lead away; Tim Hueneck, Jerry curcio and Ed luban. Other top finishers 37.5k 14th overall and top female Elspeth Ronnander of Rochester. In the 25k 1st place Brian Nelsson of Manlius followed by 2nd place Nancy Bailey of Jordan. In the 12.5k J2 skier Peter Mallery of Webster took the win and J3 skier Anna Witkowski of Victor took 1st for the women and 5th overall.
111 competitors competed despite the unpleasant weather (35 and steady rain). Overall an excellent event under Race Director, Jamie Wilson, timing by Ken Auyer and Grooming by Carl Snow. Local volunteers including the boy scouts, sheriffs snowmobile patrol, volunteer ambulance, fire department, forest rangers, WFRA members and many more came out to assist. The event ended with an chicken BBQ at the Mannsville fire hall with Awards.
