The NYSEF Season Opener went off as planned after the first good week of snow in the north country. The first race of the season was held on the infamous Women’s 5k course out of the XC Stadium at Mt Van Hoevenberg. About 76 skiers attended with an additional 20 kochers. The course was groomed and marked to perfection thanks to the efforts of the Van Ho staff. High winds swept the stadium throughout the event, while temps hovered in the mid 20’s.
