NYSSRA Prez, Jim Kobak at the Winter Expo
NYSSRA Nordic was represented at the annual Adirondack Sports & Fitness Winter Expo in Saratoga Springs. NYSSRA joined many different winter sports clubs and vendors at this event. On hand were President, Jim Kobak, Vice-President David Kvam and Secretary, Eric Hamilton. Highlights of the Expo included presentations by NYSSRA’s own Curt Schreiner, Deb Nordyke and Sean Halligan.
Curt Schriener talks about his experiences at the Olympics
Curt and Deb gave a presentation about their Olympic experiences. Curt is a three-time Olympic biathlete, competing at the ’88 Calgary, ’92 Albertville and the ’94 Lillehammer Games, and Deborah skied Biathlon at the 1998 Nagano Games.
Sean and Curt give a wax clinic
Curt and Sean teamed up to give a cross-country ski waxing clinic sponsored by the Saratoga Springs Blue Streaks Nordic Team and the Saratoga Biathlon Club.
NY Rollerski Championships coming to Saratoga in 2010
Perhaps the most exciting news from the expo was that NYSSRA Nordic and Adirondack Sports and Fitness will be co-sponsoring the New York State Rollerski Championship in Saratoga Springs next November. This race will take place during next year’s Expo and will be part of the NYSSRA series. NYSSRA is excited to bring the excitement of Nordic racing to downtown Saratoga Springs.
