**UPDATE** The NYSEF Season Opener is on for this Sunday, December 15, 2013. A location will be determined on Thursdayafter the night snowfall. Choice #1 is Mt. Van Hoevenberg and Choice #2 is at the Olympic Ski Jumps on a 1.5 km loop (snowmaking).  Race details, online registration and volunteer sign-up will be posted on Friday morning – stay tuned!

*UPDATE* The HURT rollerski race planned for SPAC as a backup option has been cancelled because impending winter weather this weekend will make the park roads unusable. (and the NYSEF Season Opener is on.

*UPDATE* on the RXCSF Classic Poronkusema Race:  There is major lake effect storms predicted for some of our area over the next 48-hours. It will depend on how much snow we get and where it falls as to whether we can race or not. Look for updates through Thursday morning. Be prepared for both venue and technique changes if needed. Race organizers are optimistic; Harriet Hollister got 6″ last night and Byrncliff likely got even more by reports. More snow forecast today as well. It’s light, lake effect snow so it compresses a lot and they had lost their base, but they think it’ll be enough. Stay tuned for updates.
