{"id":380,"date":"2009-01-21T21:40:41","date_gmt":"2009-01-22T02:40:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nyssranordic.com\/word_press\/?p=380"},"modified":"2009-01-21T21:40:41","modified_gmt":"2009-01-22T02:40:41","slug":"2009-mid-atlantic-junior-olympics-trip-preliminary-info","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nyssranordic.org\/?p=380","title":{"rendered":"2009 Mid-Atlantic Junior Olympics Trip Preliminary Info"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Greetings Mid-A Juniors\/Parents,<\/p>\n<p>The 2009 \u00a0Junior Olympics will be\u00a0held in \u00a0Truckee, Ca.\u00a0\u00a0 The Mid-A Junior Committee has been working\u00a0diligently to keep the costs as low as possible while still providing the athletes with the\u00a0best service and racing experience possible.\u00a0 Those of you who have been apart of the trip in the past\u00a0realize that the trip is a great value that exposes the athletes\u00a0to the highest level of nordic skiing in the country.\u00a0 This year to make it more convienent for all\u00a0we will depart from two airports. This adds to\u00a0the cost of the trip but will save those coming\u00a0from the furthest points of the state\u00a0the added expense of travel, hotel, missed work etc.\u00a0<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nThe cost of this years trip is $2,475. which is due at the Final JOQ in Old Forge on Sunday Feb. 1st.\u00a0 Checks made payable to &#8220;Mid-Atlantic Ski Team&#8221;. If you\u00a0need a Mid-A uniform, we will be ordering those and there will be an extra cost of approx $130 for the suit and $80 for the jacket.\u00a0 Since these uniforms have not changed in a few years there are a lot of them around.\u00a0\u00a0You may be able to borrow one!\u00a0 An advantage of keeping the stars and stripes of Mid-A!!!<\/p>\n<p>The trip is funded by the fee the athletes pay. This fee is obtained by getting estimates of costs and dividing it amoung the number of athletes taken on the trip. Costs incurred prior to the trip are out of pocket for those running the trip and are recovered by the trip organizers after the trip fees are collected. This\u00a0is why it is necessary to have your payment to the organizers at the selection of the team\u00a0in Old Forge on Sunday Feb 1st.\u00a0 If you are unable to attend the team selection, please make arrangements with Bill Brooker (Mid-A Trip Leader)\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:bbrooker@frontiernet.net\">bbrooker@frontiernet.net<\/a>\u00a0and Margaret Maher (MId-A Head Coach)\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:margm@nysef.org\">margm@nysef.org<\/a> to get the paper work done and submit payment asap. This gives us a definate number for the trip,\u00a0 we can cover any out of pocket expenses that have occured for the organizers and we can start to finalize the particulars.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, if you are named to the team and accept a spot, you will need a USSA membership ($120) to compete at JO&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p>Now that we are all on the same page, let&#8217;s get excited about this years trip! We are excited that a lot of interest has come in from a lot of our top skiers!
