{"id":2156,"date":"2012-01-13T06:47:30","date_gmt":"2012-01-13T11:47:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nyssranordic.com\/word_press\/?p=2156"},"modified":"2012-01-13T06:47:30","modified_gmt":"2012-01-13T11:47:30","slug":"nyssra-esg-tournado-nordic-storm-warning-for-lake-placid-feb-3-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nyssranordic.org\/?p=2156","title":{"rendered":"NYSSRA ESG TourNADO: Nordic Storm Warning for Lake Placid Feb 3-5!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"The TourNADO\" src=\"http:\/\/nyssranordic.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/TourNadoGraphic-300x225.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The NYSSRA Season now has it\u2019s own \u201cTour de Ski!\u201d \u00a0In an ultimate test of endurance and ski prowess, NYSSRA members can partake in the newly formatted 3 stage event, from February 3-5,2012, the \u00a0<strong>NYSSRA Nordic\/ESG Tour NADO!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The<em> Empire State Games Cross Country Championships <\/em>and the<em> Lake Placid Loppet <\/em>have joined forces for the\u00a0<em>NYSSRA Nordic-ESG Cross Country Ski Tour-NADO.<\/em><em> <\/em>This unique event will challenge skiers of all levels and abilities and will be used to determine overall Empire State Games Cross Country Ski Champions.<\/p>\n<p>Skiers will have the opportunity to ski in up to three events over the ESG\/Loppet weekend.\u00a0 Skiers who compete in any of these events will have the opportunity to be named<strong> NYSSRA\/ESG T<strong><em>ourNADO<\/em><\/strong> <\/strong>World Champions of the Empire State! \u00a0 Skiers do not have to compete in all three events to be eligible for overall awards. \u00a0The sum of any and all NYSSRA points scored during this weekend celebration of ski racing will be used to determine overall awards. \u00a0Of course, the more events one completes, the greater the chance of becoming a\u00a0<strong>NYSSRA\/ ESG TourNADO World Champion!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Friday, Feb 3, 2012:<\/strong><em><strong> <\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><em><strong><\/strong><\/em><\/span><em><strong>ESG TourNADO Prologue: <\/strong><\/em> Scheduled to be held at the XC Stadium at Mount Van Hoevenberg.\u00a0 Skiers will compete in a 2.5 km Freestyle\u00a0Timetrial.\u00a0 Individual ESG medals in all divisions will be awarded for this event.\u00a0 Skiers will score NYSSRA points for this event.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3:00 PM Bib Pickup<\/li>\n<li>4:00 PM Interval Start<\/li>\n<li>Awards imedeately following<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Saturday, Feb 4, 2012<\/span>: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong><strong><em>Lake Placid Loppet. <\/em><\/strong>Skiers may choose to compete in the 50 km Classic, 50 km Freestyle, 25 km Classic or 25 km Freestyle events.\u00a0 Awards are given by ORDA\/Lake Placid Loppet.\u00a0 Skiers will score NYSSRA points for this event. \u00a0The Loppet has separate\u00a0registration and entry fees. \u00a0All NYSSRA skiers who complete any of the Loppet distances\/techniques will receive<strong>ESG TourNADO <\/strong>points for their efforts. \u00a0Registration for the Lake Placid Loppet is available\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.active.com\/running\/lake-placid-ny\/30th-annual-lake-placid-loppet-2012\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Sunday, Feb 5, 2012:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>ESG\u00a0TourNADO Championship Finale:<\/em><\/strong> A 7.5 km Classic race at Mount Van Hoevenberg will be used as the Tour finale.\u00a0 ESG medals will be awarded for this event.\u00a0 NYSSRA Points will be scored for this event.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>12 Noon Bib Pickup<\/li>\n<li>1:00 PM Interval Start<\/li>\n<li>Awards to follow<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>NYSSRA Nordic \u2013 ESG<\/strong> <strong><em>TourNADO<\/em><\/strong> Champions:\u00a0 Skiers who compete in any of the three\u00a0<strong><em>TourNADO<\/em><\/strong> events will be eligible for an additional ESG medal as Tour Champion.\u00a0 Skiers will have their NYSSRA points totalled for each of the three events, and age-class ESG medals will be given in each division for the overall Tour competition.<\/p>\n<p>Registration for the\u00a0<strong>NYSSRA\/ESG TourNADO<\/strong> Cross Country Prologue and Classic Championships is now available at the Empire State Winter Games\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.empirestatewintergames.com\/registration\/general\">Website<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Winter may have been slow to start, but the <strong><em>NYSSRA ESG TourNADO<\/em><\/strong> will whip cross country into a frenzy this\u00a0February 2-5!
