NYSSRA-Nordic, Inc. is pleased to announce the recipients of NYSSRA Racer Support Grants for the 2010-2011 Nordic racing season. A grant of $100 will be awarded to each of the following NYSSRA members:<\/p>\n
Men \u2013 Tom Chappell, Matthew Forshey, Will Frielinghaus, Connor Green, Brian Halligan, Gavin Hess, Jason Hettenbaugh, Aaron Huneck, Austin Huneck, Eric Mallery, Peter Mallery, Seth Mares, and Chris Yarsevich.<\/p>\n
Women \u2013 Gabriella Armstrong, Nina Armstrong, Hanna Barnes, Ashley Forshey, Glenice Gallagher, Marie Mueller, Margot Nitschke, Maddie Phaneuf, Olivia Phaneuf, Maile Sapp, Hilary Saucy, and Emma Zdgiebloski.<\/p>\n
Grants have been awarded to members every Nordic ski race season since 1988 when the NYSSRA Racer Support Grant Program was established. Grant recipients are selected based on a letter of application that states specific reasons for the grant request and provides examples of ski race performance results.<\/p>\n
All applicant letters submitted by members this season made a solid case for proposed use of the grant funds and strongly elaborated on their ski racing goals.
