This past weekend saw the toughest athletes in the state battle the cold weather and challenging cross country ski courses in Northern NY. \u00a0The Saratoga Biathlon Club<\/em><\/strong> hosted the Great Sacandaga Mini Marathon<\/em>, a 24 km Freestyle race on Saturday and the Shenendehowa 10 km Classic <\/em>on Sunday. \u00a0Peru Nordic’s<\/em> Mike Wynn<\/strong> won the Mini, and HURT Nordic’s<\/em><\/strong> Bob Underwood <\/strong>took the Shen Classic. \u00a0The Queensbury Invitational\/ JOQ,<\/em> 9 km Freestyle was held in Glens Falls on Saturday as well. \u00a0Queensbury’s Will Frielinghaus<\/strong> had the fastest 9 k time at Crandall Park.<\/p>\n

NYSSRA Nordic has had eight scored events so far this season and NYSEF Nordic’s<\/em> Nina Armstrong<\/strong>, competing in five of those events, is the overall Red Group leader, followed closely by the HURT Nordic<\/em><\/strong> “dynamic duo” of Austin Huneck<\/strong> and Brian Halligan<\/strong>. \u00a0Full Points List HERE<\/a><\/p>\n
