Could anyone from winters past have imagined race events where participants would be wearing a mask to contain respiratory droplets or be asked to avoid what we enjoy \u2013 hanging around to socialize after finishing?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Last fall NYSSRA Nordic assembled the minds of club leaders, committee chairs, event organizers, and volunteers to gain insights for <strong>Proposed Guidelines for Conducting Nordic Races during COVID-19<\/strong> for the well-being of our New York State skiing community. The result was a season of enthusiastic racer participation in safe competition events for all age groups. Among the comments from parents and individuals about our conscientious organizers was: \u201cCongratulations for everyone\u2019s efforts to keep skiing alive and safe in a pandemic.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is time to celebrate and begin planning a hopefully more normal season in 2021-22 for Cross Country, Biathlon, and Ski Orienteering. The <strong>2021 Spring Meeting<\/strong> <strong>(virtually) via Zoom<\/strong> is scheduled for <strong>Wednesday, April 28<sup>th<\/sup> at 7:00 pm<\/strong>.
