{"id":1197,"date":"2010-02-23T18:53:41","date_gmt":"2010-02-23T23:53:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nyssranordic.com\/word_press\/?p=1197"},"modified":"2010-02-23T18:53:41","modified_gmt":"2010-02-23T23:53:41","slug":"nyssra-champions-cup-weekend-the-ny-state-championships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nyssranordic.org\/?p=1197","title":{"rendered":"NYSSRA Champions Cup Weekend&#8230; THE NY State Championships!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NY State Cross Country, Biathlon and Ski-O champions will be crowned this weekend at the Saratoga Biathlon Club in Day, NY. \u00a0The Annual<strong> NYSSRA Champions Cup Weekend <\/strong>begins on Friday afternoon with the NYSSRA Ski-O championships. \u00a0On Saturday morning, the NY State Biathlon Sprint Championships takes place. \u00a0Saturday afternoon features the main event, the 21 km <strong>NYSSRA Champions Cup <\/strong>XC race. \u00a0The winner of this race will be crowned NY State Nordic Skiing Champion and\u00a0receive\u00a0the coveted NYSSRA Champions Cup. \u00a0On Sunday there is a Biathlon relay and NYSSRA&#8217;s \u00a0clubs battle it out in the Club Championship Relay.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/champs.saratogabiathlon.com\/register.html\">ONLINE REGISTRATION ENDS THURSDAY&#8230; REGISTER NOW!!!<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Saturday night features the annual NYSSRA awards banquet. \u00a0At the banquet skiers will be recognized for achievements over the course of the NYSSRA ski season. \u00a0And, age-group point series champions will\u00a0receive\u00a0their prizes in the &#8220;quest for the vest.&#8221; \u00a0Remember, to be eligible for end-of-the-season awards skiers must complete the Champions Cup race. \u00a0Awards for the season are given to the male and female points series leaders in age classes J3 through M10. \u00a0The Champions Cup race is a double points race. \u00a0As of this post, there are 30 skiers registered, including powerhouse skiers from <strong>Rochester Nordic Racing, Glenville Hills Nordic, Peru Nordic Masters, Shenendehowa Nordic Club, Saratoga Biathlon, Paul Smiths College <\/strong>and <strong>Team HURT<\/strong>.
