NYSSRA Nordic\u2019s Cross Country Clubs compete all season long for the right to be named NYSSRA Nordic Club Champion.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0NYSSRA Cross Country Race Calendar is\u00a0Meet Scored<\/em>\u00a0(20 points to the winner) with clubs earning Club Championship Series Points based on the total NYSSRA Points scored during each race block!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Points will be awarded 10 times during the season for each of the following racing blocks (again 20 points to the winner)<\/p>\n

1. December Racing : Block 1<\/p>\n

2. January first weeks: Block 2<\/p>\n

3. January : Block 3<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0Empire State Games Weekend: Block 4<\/p>\n

5. Feb first weeks: Block 5<\/p>\n

6. Feb end: Block 6<\/p>\n

7. NYSSRA CHAMPIONSHIPS: Men’s Relay: Block 7<\/p>\n

8. NYSSRA CHAMPIONSHIPS: Women’s Relay: Block 8<\/p>\n

9. \u00a0NYSSRA CHAMPIONSHIPS: Mixed Relay: Block 9<\/p>\n

10. NYSSRA CHAMPIONSHIPS 20 km Skate: Block 10<\/p>\n

The series culminates with the NYSSRA-Nordic Champions Cup weekend; with the club accumulating the most points from these events will be crowned, \u201ccurrent season\u201d NYSSRA-Nordic Club Champions\u201d, and will be awarded the Club Championship banner. Designated NYSSRA Series events are identified in the Cross Country schedules.<\/p>\n

The Lake Placid Loppet is not part of the 2020 NYSSRA points series.<\/p>\n

To be eligible to participate in the Club Championship Series:<\/p>\n

The participating club must be NYSSRA-Nordic affiliated prior to scoring points in any event. Points scored before the affiliation process is completed will not be counted toward the clubs overall total.<\/p>\n

Club members participating in an event must have a current NYSSRA-Nordic membership. And may only earn points for the club that they designated on their NYSSRA-Nordic membership form. In the absence of designation on the membership form, a skier will earn points only for the first club they represent during club series events<\/p>\n

Club members must designate club affiliation on their race registration prior to the start of the event.<\/p>\n

Points will be scored using the NYSSRA-Nordic points system. In each event, total points earned by club members will be calculated.\u00a0Then, the club with the most points for the event will be named \u201cEvent Champion\u201d and will receive 20 points towards the overall club series.\u00a0 Other participating clubs will receive points using the point allotment scale outlined below.\u00a0 Club championship standings will be maintained and updated on the NYSSRA-nordic website www.nyssranordic.com.<\/p>\n

We encourage New York State ski clubs & organizations to send members to these and other NYSSRA-Nordic sanctioned events. Clubs should have their members designate club affiliations on the NYSSRA-Nordic membership form, as well as on race registration materials.<\/p>\n

NYSSRA CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES: FAQs<\/p>\n

Can any club\/team\/group be involved?<\/em> \u2013 Yes, as long as that group has officially been sanctioned by NYSSRA.<\/p>\n

How do clubs score points?<\/em> \u2013 Each member of a club who finishes a NYSSRA series race scores points for his\/her club. The points scored are equal to his\/her NYSSRA series points scored for that race.\u00a0For each race, the sum\u00a00f all skiers\u00a0competing for a club is calculated.\u00a0 Each club is then given points for the meet based on\u00a0their overall NYSSRA points scored. \u00a0Clubs score points for these races only.<\/p>\n

What are this season\u2019s club races? \u2013 All races listed in the cross country and biathlon schedules as NYSSRA Series Races. The final club events are held during the NYSSRA Champions Cup weekend. There are biathlon and Cross country Club Championship Relays \u00a0and the NYSSRA Champions Cup Race.<\/p>\n

Who can I have on my club\/team? <\/em>\u2013 Anyone who is a NYSSRA member can count for your club. Skiers may only ski for one club during a season. Just make sure your club members designate their affiliation on their race entry form in order to be counted as part of your club.<\/p>\n

So, I can have\u00a0Marit Bjoergen\u00a0and Petter Northug race for my club? <\/em>\u2013 Yes, as long as they join NYSSRA and write their club affiliation on their race entry forms.<\/p>\n

When are the awards presented? <\/em>\u2013 A single NYSSRA-Nordic Club Champion designated each season. This award will be given at the conclusion of the NYSSRA Champions Cup race.
