How many total kilometers did you race during the 2010-11 season? It’s time to check your racing log book, tally up your “racing Ks” and figure out if you’re eligible for a NYSSRA Nordic A.W.A.R.D. (Nordic All Winter Accumulated Race Distance) pin and certificate. NYSSRA skiers who have accumulated race distances for the season as follows are eligible for:

• 250 kilometers or greater – gold A.W.A.R.D.
• 225 kilometers or greater – silver A.W.A.R.D.
• 175 kilometers or greater – bronze A.W.A.R.D.

To receive your A.W.A.R.D. pin and certificate, write a summary log that includes dates raced, race names, locations, distances and overall “total racing Ks” over your signature, name and postal mailing address. Send this summary by April 13, 2011 to Eric Hamilton, NYSSRA Nordic Secretary, by postal mail (67 Pico Road, Clifton Park, NY 12065) or email (ejh.bkh@juno.com). Pins will be ordered on April 15 so, summaries received after April 13 may only receive a certificate.

Each race season several members qualify for and receive the A.W.A.R.D. pin and certificate. The program has been going for more than 20 years as an incentive for NYSSRA skiers to compete in and complete many races in a season.
